Tips & Facts
A home energy audit is the first step in making your home more efficient. An audit will assess how much energy your home uses and evaluate what measures you can take to improve efficiency. But remember, audits alone don't save energy. You need to implement the recommended improvements. Energy Audits Unlimited provides extensive information about home improvement projects to enhance energy efficiency, lower utility bills, and increase comfort.
Progressive pricing based on Square Footage of Building
Residential: Residential: $225 for a building up to 3000 square feet, plus $25 for each additional 1000 square feet, or portion thereof.
The audit includes diagnosis with the Blower Door and the Infra-Red camera. The audit will also include a visual inspection of the furnace/boiler and a visual inspection of the existing insulation.
The report will include the results of the diagnoses, including the Home Heating Index (HHI) and the Natural Air Changes per Hour (ACHn). These numbers will have meaning as they will also have been discussed on the day of the audit. The report will also be accompanied by a list of qualified weatherization (Wx) vendors and some D-I-Y sketches of some fixes to simpler problems found during the audit.
Residential: $200 for Blower Door test, if one is required to obtain Certificate of Occupancy for new construction. Check with your town building inspector to learn if this is required.
Small Commercial: $500 for a building up to 5000 square feet, plus $100 for each additional 2000 square feet, or portion thereof, up to a maximum of $1000.
The audit includes diagnosis with the blower door, where safe and appropriate, and the Infra-Red camera. A full report of building information and remedial measures is also included, as appropriate to client or participating program rules and guidelines.
Electrical lighting audits and energy plans to qualify for the rebates on commercial photovoltaic array installations are also available. EAU is the state’s leading provider of these reports to the NHPUC.
Thermal Camera Imaging Only: $225 includes Thermal Camera used while the Blower Door is running and Walk-thru Inspection. No report will be generated to describe remedial measures. If the conditions permit useable IR data to be gathered, a small thermo graphic report can be generated for an additional $50.
